There’s been no shortage of drama in hip-hop this year, but fans also got some great music in the process. This week we’re getting the return of a popular rapper from the Bronx, the fourth album from one of rap’s most respected female spitters, and the release of an up-and-coming talent from Staten Island. Latest records and more.
Boogie Wit Da Hood releases ‘Better Off Alone’ album
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie returns with fifth studio album Better Off Alone. The record’s cover art features the Bronx, New York rhymer defying the laws of gravity in a bold pose, standing alone on the side of a towering building as if he were Spider-Man. It looks like his face is covered, leaving only a pair of glowing eyes.
The project features 21 tracks and includes rap guest appearances from Future, Lil Durk, Young Thug, Fridayy, Mariah The Scientist and more. The first single from the series is “Steppas”. The 28-year-old musician shared a trailer for his new album on his Instagram page on Wednesday (May 15). The video, which can be seen below, includes footage of A Boogie performing live in front of large crowds of fans on various concert stages.

Wolfacejoeyy presents Valentino album
After hitting TikTok with “Buku” in 2023 and “Cake” in 2024, Wolfacejoeyy is ready to make a splash with his solo project Valentino. As the title suggests, the Staten Island, New York native delivers a unique blend of sultry diamond music and ballad grooves.
Although the 21-year-old is new to the music industry, he has big dreams. In an interview with XXL’s The Break (shown below), Wolfacejoeyy said he plans to stay true to himself and his music while exploring all aspects of the rap game.
“I want to be able to create as freely as possible,” Wolfe said. “There’s a lot of this conversation, you know, ‘Jack of all trades, master of none.'” I want to be a jack of all trades, I want to be able to try and grow and be a well-rounded musician who can execute on my crazy ideas.
