Los Angeles DA details why Diddy won’t face charges despite horrific video
On Friday (May 17), the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office explained their decision not to charge Diddy after surveillance video surfaced that allegedly showed the music mogul assaulting his ex-girlfriend Ka at a Los Angeles hotel. West Ventura. In a lengthy statement (shown below), the Los Angeles County District Attorney said they were unable to file criminal charges against Didi due to the statute of limitations.
“We are aware of a video circulating online that purportedly depicts Sean Combs assaulting a young woman in Los Angeles,” the statement read. “We find the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch. If the conduct described had occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would not be able to lay charges as it occurred beyond the time within which an assault charge could be prosecuted.”
The District Attorney’s Office added that law enforcement has no police report regarding the attack, but encourages victims or witnesses of crimes to come forward.
“As of today, law enforcement has not filed a case related to the assault depicted in Mr. Coombs’ video, but we encourage any victims or witnesses of crimes to report it to law enforcement or contact our office for support from the Bureau of Victim Services,” the statement said concluded.
